PRACTICE CHARTER
COMPLAINTS
We try hard to give the best care possible and welcome suggestions or comments
to improve the service. Should you feel your needs are not being met we have a
practice-based complaints procedure. A poster is displayed in our waiting room
and a copy of our practice complaints leaflet is available at reception. A comments
box is situated in reception.
CONFIDENTIALITY
All our staff are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors. No
information will be given without your permission.
CHAPERONES
If you wish to have a friend, relative or member of the practice staff present
during a consultation, please mention this to the doctor and it will be arranged.
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION – PUBLICATION SCHEME
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a publication scheme. A publication scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available.
This scheme is available from reception.
ZERO TOLERANCE
We strongly support the NHS policy on zero tolerance. Anyone attending the surgery who abuses the GPs, staff or other patients be it verbally, physically or in any threatening manner whatsoever, will risk removal from the practice list. In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders from the practice premises.
